Our Local Comfort Keepers
ByWho needs In-Home Care?
Most of us know people in their senior years who want desperately to live out their lives in their own homes with familiar surroundings; but, because they can no longer do all of the activities necessary to stay alone in their home. Many seniors opt for home care to postpone the move to a retirement home.
Whether it is a few hours a week or 24 hours a day, the Caregivers at Comfort Keepers are making it possible for people to continue to live in their own homes and enjoy a quality of life that they thought was gone forever. Caregivers allow the clients to continue to live a normal life, and even heighten clients’ self-esteem by allowing them to continue their daily activities with assistance where needed. These trained Caregivers provide solutions to help people stay in their own home and live their life at their own schedule. Sometimes all that is needed is a little bit of assistance to enable someone to remain independent.
Local Ownership
Comfort Keepers is a Home Health Agency and as such they are required to employ and manage their staff providing liability insurance, bonding and workman’s compensation. Our Comfort Keepers is locally owned and family operated and is actively involved in the community participating and sponsoring local organizations like Inverness Rotary, Women’s Business Alliance, Leadership Citrus, various Health Expos and Suncoast Business Masters. Gailen Spinka was a project manager working fire protection projects for nuclear power plants in the U.S. and Canada. He combined the skills and passions of his family members to determine the type of business his family could support. His wife Deborah had experience and enjoyed accounting so she was perfect for the Office Manager. His daughter, Lindsey Arthur, had a history of being a caregiver; it was her passion. She was perfect for the Administrator. Based on Gailen’s experience as a project manager he was most suitable as the General Manager. That is how our Comfort Keeper’s came to be almost seven years ago in 2004.

At Comfort Keepers of Inverness, Florida we strive to transform day-to-day caregiving into opportunities for meaningful conversation and activities that engage and enrich the lives of seniors physically, mentally, socially and emotionally.
This practice of “Interactive Caregiving”™ can contribute to longer, healthier, more purposeful lives for seniors—a fact proven by many research studies that point to the health benefits of active living in later life.
“Comfort Keepers” is our special name for the compassionate people who deliver Comfort Keepers’ premier brand of in-home caregiving. They enrich the lives of seniors and other adults as they help them live safely, happily and independently in the comfort of their own homes.
Comfort Keepers are well trained, professional caregivers. What truly sets them above other in-home caregivers, however, is their natural gift for caring for others. They have a heart for caregiving—and Comfort Keepers has a thorough screening and interviewing process to identify them from those less devoted.
Only those who pass this process go on to complete training to deliver our special brand of care—and become Comfort Keepers. Our local Comfort Keepers also pass extensive background checks that surpass both State and franchise requirements and complete continuing education. Also, they’re bonded, insured and covered by Workers’ Compensation insurance to protect our clients and their families—and because they are Comfort Keepers employees, we take care of their payroll taxes.
